As we head into October, we're excited to offer a variety of programs and events to support the myasthenia gravis community. Whether you’re looking for educational webinars, support groups, or casual meetups, we have something for everyone. From virtual discussions to in-person gatherings, this month’s lineup includes insightful presentations on breathing equipment, MG care advancements, healthy eating habits, and more. Tuesday October 1, 2024 | Virtual Young Friends of the MGA

Connect with others in their 20s, 30s, and 40s living with myasthenia gravis and their loved ones. Come and participate in casual conversation and share what's going on in your life.

Wednesday October 2, 2024 | Webinar: MG Care in 2044

What does MG care look like in 2044? Henry Kaminski, MD, Chair of Neurology at George Washington University, will share his research on new treatments and advancements in complement inhibition. He is also the CEO of ARC Biotechnology and principal investigator for MGNet.

Join us for an Oktoberfest lunch, a dutch treat, and a chance to meet others who are affected by Myasthenia Gravis. This meeting is a safe place to ask questions, share stories, and learn from each other. While Myasthenia Gravis isn’t passed down through families, some people may be more likely to get autoimmune diseases. We’ll talk about possible family patterns and how multiple autoimmune conditions can happen.

Saturday October 26, 2024 | 64th Annual Meeting & Educational Seminar

St. Joseph Medical Center | 1000 Carondelet Drive Kansas City, MO 64114

Join us for STORIES and HOPE as we hear from Vickie Petz Kasper, MD, an individual living with Myasthenia Gravis (MG) as well as get an update on the therapies that have been approved to treat MG over the past several years presented by Tania Papsdorf, MD, Lake Regional Hospital. Attendees can elect to attend either virtually or in person at St. Joseph Medical Center, Community Center D, 1000 Carondelet Drive, Kansas City, MO. US Online attendees will receive a meeting packet in the mail if registered by 10/18/24. This event is free to all attendees. In person attendees will enjoy breakfast, lunch and the opportunity to attend a vendor fair of vendors associated with the MG community.

Monday October 28, 2024 | Virtual Monthly Meet-Up

6:30pm - 7:30pm 

We're pleased to welcome Kathleen Rippe, a dietitian from the General Medicine Outpatient Clinic at the University of Kansas Medical Center, as our guest speaker. With her experience working with a diverse range of patients, including those with Myasthenia Gravis, she will share insights on healthy eating, focusing on managing a diet while on prednisone and choosing softer foods for those experiencing trouble with swallowing and chewing.
