In this Friday Feature, we are excited to introduce you to Ashley Steele, our newest Board Member.
Tell us a little bit about yourself? Born and raised in Independence, MO. I received my B.S. in Business Management and Marketing at Northwest Missouri State University, go Bearcats! I have been with Polsinelli for about 6 and a half years, currently as the Assistant Marketing Events Manager. I’m a proud aunt of 3, Mason, Molly and S.J., who thankfully all live within 20 minutes of me. I have a 9 year old golden retriever named Bernie, who is always by my side!
You have a family member diagnosed with myasthenia gravis. Can you tell us a little bit about that?
Yes, my dad was diagnosed in the Fall of 2020. We are so thankful that he was able to be diagnosed quickly and were able to get a good handle on his symptoms soon after his diagnosis. With my mom and two sisters, he has no chance of walking this new chapter alone!
Had you heard of myasthenia gravis or the Myasthenia Gravis Association before his diagnosis?
I had not, it definitely took us a few times to learn even how to pronounce it but it has been interesting learning about the Myasthenia Gravis Association.
What are you looking forward to as being a part of the Board of Directors?
I am really looking forward to learning more about myasthenia gravis and the resources that are available to help those diagnosed and their families. I am also really excited to help the Board of Directors where ever I can with events that help get the word out about the association.
